By some imposing yardsticks, the current global dispensation of multilateral authoritarianism breaks with its precedent, the neoliberal network. Yet the form of the network remains spinal for the avowed theory and practice of the state promulgated by the authoritarians. Are networks ideologically indifferent, equality neutral? And how can we know? In what ways do aesthetic mediations symptomatize, criticize, or render networks knowable? Do network aesthetics precede, lag, or cohere network politics?
Join InterCcECT for a reading session on network politics and network aesthetics, featuring selections from Quinn Slobodian’s Crack Up Capitalism and Zach Tavlin’s Network Theory & Nashville, with special guest Dr. Tavlin in the flesh.
